A How To Guide - What It Is And How To Write One

Thursday 27 December 2007 @ 2:22 am

A ‘How To’ guide is an informal, frequently short, explanation of how to accomplish some particular undertaking. A how-to is commonly meant to help people who are not experts on the subject, and may skip details that are primarily important to experts. Such a guide may commonly also be a simplified version of the subject. While most ‘how to’ guides are in written form, a great alternative is to make a video, so that people can see exactly how something is being done.

If you don’t already have a subject in mind, then you of course need to decide what you would like to write about. Most people will be expert at something - or at least well informed on a particular subject. Some of the best ‘how to’ topics will be those that help others to avoid common mistakes with regard to a subject.

Begin with a summary which will let your audience know what you are going to discuss, and will capture their attention and interest.  Starting with a question or statement can be a good way to present something that your audience can relate to. For example, you might say “Have you ever wished you could discover How To Lose Weight and keep it off permanently?”, or “Do you think you have no writing talent but want to learn How To Write A Song
- it can be easy if you know the secret”. Or perhaps something like “Do
you love your dog, but wish you knew href="http://a-howto.com/train-a-dog">How To Train Your Dog to stop barking all the time?”

The next sentences should let your audience discover how you will help them, and then break the entire process up into simple easy steps. Any advice or tips which don’t fit into the step by step process, should be left to the end.

Warn people of any potentially dangerous consequences of what you are describing, or if perhaps part of the job requires a licensed professional. Also give directions for what to do if something goes wrong.

Simple Things You Can Do For Your Health

Sunday 23 December 2007 @ 9:08 pm

In today’s world it is very easy to get caught up in health issues.
Doctor’s provide relief from ailments and definitely can put a body back together if tragedy should occur! Those are really great things but your day to day health and lifestyle is ultimately your choice.

Are you paying attention to what you give your body on a day to day basis? It really can make a considerable difference in your life! In a physical sense, every person is different when it comes to their particular likes and dislikes in foods they ingest and products they use on the body (ie..soaps, lotions, potions, etc..)! So it just stands to reason that no two people would experience the same type of benefit from the same type of diet or products.

The medical community as well as many other reputable people have a myriad of specific solutions to help as many people as possible, when it comes to health, but the decision maker about your health is ultimately you.

So what are the some of the simple things you can do to improve your health?

Well for one, since I believe there is a God and I will always believe that, seek out the foods and resources that already exist in the most natural form as possible to help with your nutrition and body. It is easy to get caught up
in the use of something other than that which occurs in nature. I am not knocking the medical world or pharmaceutical world for their remedies, because it is definitely needed. All I am saying here is that for nutrition and overall health, everything occurs in nature already. You may want to note that everything that man has ever created has been derived from nature first!
Without relevance from pure nature, there could not have been any development into the new things we have around us today.

Okay…I’ll cut the fluff and get to the point of this article…simple things!

Drink clean healthy water….nothing new here…just don’t assume that the water you have immediately available is really that good for you! From my personal experience, once I started consuming filtered water, I had a lot less headaches, runny noses, achy muscles and the like! I even started sleeping better…all because the chemicals in the water I was drinking were contributing to some of my day to day problems! For years I never realized this until I made this one change!

Take a good multi-vitamin once or twice a day. Not all vitamins or just any vitamin may be suitable enough for your specific lifestyle. My first experience with a specific multi-vitamin was no less than amazing. Someone gave me a bottle of vitamins to try because I was a little tired and worn by afternoon break at my desk job. Interestingly for me, those vitamins resolved a major health problem I thought I had to live with for the rest of my life. I had a sinus condition that caused me to have a runny-nose, watery eyes and headaches for
almost thirty years. I was always sneezing and wheezing over something, all day long. Once I started with these particular vitamins, I no longer had any problems! For me, it was just a matter of spending the money I was already spending on medications to help….on these particular vitamins. I never looked back and my life is much better now, almost twenty-five years later.

Nutrition…Pay attention to what you are eating everyday…you are the steward of your nutrition! It is very true that you are what you eat! It is more like….you eventually become what you eat! Don’t assume what you are ingesting today will be good for you tomorrow! Be conservative in the amount and eat a variety of foods! It is not good to eat until you are stuffed full, it is better to eat a variety of smaller portions until you are not hungry. Chew the food and take your time eating because your body does not let you instantly
know that you are full, unless you have a habit of quickly stuffing yourself! Stuffing yourself quickly is not good!

Cleansing your body on the inside is not a bad idea either. I have seen recommendations where cleansing should be done at least twice a year!
Sometimes it is just a matter of doing a change up on your diet, for a few weeks! Like eating a lot of vegetables, instead of all those meat and potatoes. A vegetarian friend even suggested just changing to a vegetarian diet for a month because it would cause a natural flushing. They were right about that! Just doing a consistent change up like that really does shake up the body a little!

Proper hygiene…like washing your hands helps a lot too….especially for me like…after I pet an animal, since pet dander is not good for me.

Watch out for certain perfumes, lotions, soaps and shampoos too….some do cause mild physical reactions that you may not otherwise notice because you
never really thought about it.

If you are a fisherman, then you know that just a small amount of water taken from the water where you caught the fish, will keep them alive until you get them home and clean them. Hopefully you realize that a small amount of anything ingested into your body or put on it does make a world of difference in your overall health and lifestyle.

Health problems can be cumulative and occur randomly without giving you any indication that it is directly related to your diet or habits, good or bad! A health professionals job is to provide a remedy for what ails you, but it is your responsibility to realize that your body runs on the fuel you put into it and the things you put on it! It took me quite a few years to start paying attention to my health and how it is affected by my day to day activities.

I am neither a health professional or a nutritionist. I am a single man over 50, who suffers a lot less from ailments related to my health, diet and nutrition. I just stopped taking some things for granted and did a little tweaking along the way.

Does that mean, I won’t have problems tomorrow? No….but I am much more aware of what I subject myself to and that helps. Hopefully this information may help you or at least get you thinking about it a little more. An ounce of prevention
is much better than a pound of cure!

I have also set up two news blogs that collect information. One related to medical health profession and one related to natural health. It is a big world and I need all the help I can get when it comes to proper and less confusing information.

Hopefully you may find some useful information for your life!

Alex Jeffreys Post Launch Profits

Wednesday 19 December 2007 @ 9:30 pm

Have you heard of Alex Jeffreys? You probably haven’t heard of Alex, but if you have any interest in making money on the internet, you need to learn more about this guy from the UK.

Not long ago Alex, like you probably, was working in a “normal” job, as a construction worker. Alex Jeffreys has quite a story.

Just a year ago, he was answering to a boss at a construction job that made him get up before the crack of dawn…and bust his rear all day.

Alex knew there had to be a better way, when he contracted the internet bug, and started making some pretty good money with eBay.

Alex took what he learned from his eBay business, and created a product to help normal people do what he was doing to make using eBay as a traffic and marketing tool. You may have heard of his Easy Profit Auctions product - my favorite product of 2007.

Anyway, this was the first product that Alex ever created, and he really know nothing about the process. That would stop most people from even trying to create a digital product.

But nothing could hold Alex back. Sure, he had his struggles… I mean, the guy was working a regular job, had a baby on the way, and he doesn’t call himself a technical genius…

But he found a way to build a six figure online business in less than a year through consistent and persistent action. No, he didn’t do it overnight, but he did it through a methodical, consistent process.

Alex is now sharing the secrets that were the key to his success. You too can learn the step by step system that a normal guy like Alex used to create a super successful online product.

Here’s the best part - It’s FREE.

You can download his FREE 97 page Post Launch Profits guide here.

You know, when something on the internet is given away for free, many times it free because the quality is just not that great.

So, I wasn’t expecting much from someone who has only been “in the game” for a year who was giving something away :-)… but I was dead wrong!

You see, Alex had to come up with his own unique strategies because he didn’t have the resources and advantages that the internet marketing gurus have. Since he was an unknown he didn’t have a big list, and wasn’t buddy buddy with the big boys.

That’s why I think you should check this out-because you probably have big dreams for where you want to be in a year’s time, and you’ll need some killer strategies to get you there.

Alex’s story is a reminder that dreams still do come true, that the “little guy” can still make it. That the internet is still the gold mine of home business, and the easiest way to get away from that dreaded job!

Where do you want to be in a year? Still at that unsatisfying, low paying, stress filled job, with no security for the future? Or, starting a successful internet marketing career where you are the boss, and you pick your own hours.

Don’t wait another day, get the FREE Post Launch Profits road map and start your successful internet marketing career today.

Treat Acne Before It Mistreats You

Friday 14 December 2007 @ 12:47 am

There are many acne products on the market to deal with acne problems. For many consumers skin care is one of the most important matters of the day. For those who understand what it takes to have healthy skin, it is as important as physical exercise.

Acne is defined as a condition of the skin that involves the hair and oil glands. It is characterised by black or white heads, pimples, cysts and reddishness. Face acne can spoil your appearance and make you shy and very uncomfortable. For those who have only minor acne , they tend to totally forget about the topic of ‘Acne prevention’. However, the importance of this cannot be forgotten in any way.

On thing to do is drink a lot of water. As we age we sometimes forget that water is so important to our overall health. This won’t sustain your skin moisture simply will help in overall upkeep of your health (and in turn your skin). It might look a bit clumsy to a few, notwithstanding, this is a fundamental skin care hint. We cannot survive without it, yet we fail to consumer it in great amounts.

Cleansing is a very effective way of getting rid of dirt and other harsh elements from your skin. Cleanse your skin on a regular basis (1-2 times everyday). Cleansing is especially important when you have been out of your house and exposed to pollutants. Use Luke warm water for cleansing, too hot or too cold water could cause damage to your skin.

Be well aware of products that could have a prominent quantity of chemicals and additives that could damage your skin permanently. If you’re supersensitive to any elements, be sure to not use those products. Also, use sunscreen to protect yourself from sun’s harmful UV radiations. You can use day-time moisturisers that have sunscreen built into them. Use them even when it’s cloudy. UV radiations are known to cause skin cancer, so always show caution.

Sleep and exercise are important, not just for skin care but for overall health. Lack of sleep can lead to formation of wrinkles below your eyes and lack of exercise can cause your skin to lose elasticity. Exercise and sleep also help in beating stress. Remember, that being proactive an practicing prevention goes a long way in overcoming acne.

Coffee - The Addictive Stimulant

Thursday 13 December 2007 @ 4:01 am

Coffee is one of the important commodities in the world. It is consumed by many people around the world and plays a major part in some economies of the world. It is traded through some major commodities board around the world, e.g. New York Board of Trade (NYBOT). Currently, Brazil is the worlds largest coffee producer which constitutes about 32% (year 2006) of the total world production.

Coffee is an “addictive” beverage made from grounded roasted coffee beans. The pleasant aroma and taste makes it irresistible to coffee lovers. There are many ways to consume this concoction. Some like it hot and some like it cold. It can be consumed with or without sweetener, cream, milk or any other combination you can think of. Its very versatile and creative people can create new taste and flavor. Many businesses have built an empire around coffee, like Starbucks.

The Origin Of Coffee

According to legend, coffee was first discovered in the highlands of Ethiopia during the 9th Century by a shepherd called Kaldi. While tending to his herd, he was intrigued by the strange behavior of his goat. They were happily dancing and leaping after eating strange red berries. He plucked those berries and brought them to a neighboring convent and relates his observation to the priests there. They decided to boil those berries and after drinking the brew, found an extra boost of energy. From there on, the beverage starts to spread to other areas in that region from Egypt to Yemen before reaching Turkey, Persia and some parts of Africa.

Coffee eventually reached Europe in 1690 when the Dutch managed to smuggle coffee plants out from the Arabian land. It was first introduced into Moka (Mauritius), Sri Lanka, India and finally the island of Java in Indonesia before finally brought home to Europe. It was later introduced to the French Caribbean colonies. The coffee plant eventually spreads throughout the American Latin and soon the coffee beans become a major export commodity of some countries here.

Major Coffee Species

There are two major species of coffee plants cultivated for consumption, namely Coffea Arabica Linnaeus (commonly referred to as Arabica) and Coffea canephora (commonly called Robusta). The Arabica variety has a better taste compare to Robusta which is much bitter but less aroma. Sometimes, Robusta is used in the coffee blend to reduce cost. There are also other species of coffee plant like Coffea liberica and Coffea esliaca which is indigenous to Liberia and Sudan respectively.

The Art Of Roasting Coffee

The coffee beans have to be roasted before it can be consumed. After the coffee berries are harvested, the berries are stripped off their flesh leaving only the seed or beans. It is left aside to ferment in order to remove the slimy layer present on the coffee bean. When this process is completed, the fermented coffee bean is washed to remove fermented residue before being dried and graded.

There are several ways to roast coffee, such as traditional roasting, 10 minute quick roast, 90 second flash roast and many others. Different methods will give rise to different taste and aroma. As heat is applied, the coffee beans will loose moisture and turn dark. This is due to the natural occurrence of caramelized sucrose. When there is no more water in the coffee beans, the sugar and acid will begin to release their aroma. This is called the Maillard reactions. The roasting process is then halted and beans cooled and stored. Grinding can be performed and stored in an air tight container to maintain freshness.

Conclusion

Coffee is a favorite beverage of many people. It is now available in convenient forms like instant coffee granules. Some creative coffee companies have introduced pre-mixed sachets so that coffee can be consumed at any time, any place. Just add hot water and your coffee is ready. Canned coffee has also started selling in parts of Asia especially Japan and South Korea.

Online DVD REntal Types of Plans

Tuesday 11 December 2007 @ 10:04 pm

Online DVD REntal Types of Plans

Most DVD Rental companies provide variations on five basic types of membership plans:

“Unlimited”
These plans have no maximum on the number of DVDs one can rent, although there is a limit on the number one may have out at any one time (the higher this limit, the higher the monthly charge). Most of the plans at Netflix, Blockbuster, etc. are of this type. “Unlimited” is something of a misnomer, since one will be limited by the delivery time of the postal service involved, the distance between the customer and the company’s warehouse, etc. The company may also take active steps to reduce the number of discs shipped

Hemochromatosis. The Silent Death Machine

Tuesday 11 December 2007 @ 9:57 pm

Hemochromatosis can kill you dead if undetected.
Have you been feeling weak or tired all the time?
Do your joints hurt? Skin turning a bronze color?

If so, you better alert your doctor.
A complete physical must be performed.
I know it’s a bummer but better than kicking the bucket.

Your examination must include:

Total Iron Binding Capacity (TIBC) and Serum Iron (SI).
Divide the SI by TIBC for percentage of Transferrin Saturation TS.
Normal range is: 12-45%.

The same blood may be used to measure Serum Ferritin.
Normal range: 5 to 150.

Learn more about hemochromatosis here

Mostly men contract the disease for some unknown reason.
Usually around age 40. The disease seems to be most prevalent in Europeans.
Rare in black folks.

Your goal is to prevent liver cancer, heart attack or stroke. Do that by unloading stored iron as quickly as possible. Objective: ferritin below 10.

Any blood relatives must be tested and monitored yearly.

Iron will cross the blood brain barrier. Excess iron stored in the brain has been found to elevate severity in Alzheimer’s, Lou Gehrig’s, Parkinson’s, MS, and other diseases. Iron in the brain also leads to psychological problems.

If you have any of the above symptoms, make an appointment with your primary care physician immediately. The longer you put off testing, the more damage to your liver will result if you have hemochromatosis.

Panama Banks Top List For Offshore Banking Secrecy

Saturday 1 December 2007 @ 8:20 pm

Apart from being the third largest economy in Central America, South America is projected an annual economic growth of 9% annually. Sounds like a high investment grade and a perfect place for offshore institutional finance placement. The very lenient offshore legal system allows for bank secrecy laws to be strictly in place and that attracts tax-haven-hungry individuals to seek sanctuary in this tiny isthmus.

Unlike the snobbish atmosphere and the mystery laden numbered accounts the Swiss used to have, you have nothing to worry about regularly withdrawing from Panama offshore accounts.

In Switzerland, the not-so-friendly part is, you need a minimum of $250,000 to open an account. Compared to Panama offshore banking, that
